Meet Stuart Harvey

Founder of LUOSKO with specialist expertise in K9 training, behaviour and rehoming, especially but not limited to German Shepherds. Stuart continues to lead LUOSKO's work with a focus on understanding the individual dog, responsible matching and building a rescue that can serve German Shepherds for generations to come.

What drives me
Gaining knowledge on how to improve standards throughout the industry, from training to rehoming and looking to the future I hope to build an organisation that will continue helping German Shepherd Dogs for generations to come—strong enough to thrive long after those who created it have stepped aside, to be self sufficient and ever learning

LUOSKO grew from lived experience, patient observation and a simple question that still guides every decision: what does this individual dog need to feel safe, learn and move forward?

LUOSKO was founded in 2014 by Stuart Harvey, alongside co-founder Andrew “Dru” Johns. Stuart continues to lead LUOSKO and the standards, philosophy and future direction of the rescue. Dru retired his position with LUOSKO in September 2026 and no longer has any involvement.

Lorraine is the first point of contact for anyone interested in volunteering at LUOSKO. She helps match volunteers to the roles that best suit their skills and availability.

Fundraising Co-ordinator

Julie co-ordinates LUOSKO's fundraising efforts and event presence, ensuring the rescue has the resources it needs to continue its vital work.

Safeguarding Lead

As Safeguarding Lead, Michelle ensures that LUOSKO maintains the highest standards of welfare and protection — for both the dogs in our care and the people who work with them.
