At LUOSKO, we believe a successful adoption begins long before adoption day. We assess, rehabilitate and match carefully — because the right relationship, built well, lasts a lifetime.
Why we assess: Every dog who comes to us is an individual. We take time to understand who they are — their history, their needs, their personality — before we plan their future.
Why we rehabilitate: Many dogs arrive frightened, unwell or uncertain. We do not rush them. Decompression, training, veterinary care and trust-building happen at the dog's pace, not the calendar's.
Why we match carefully: A successful adoption is a relationship. We match dogs to homes we believe will genuinely suit them — and we support that match for as long as it lasts.
Why we believe adoptions begin before adoption day: By the time a dog goes home, the groundwork is done. The dog is ready. The adopter is prepared. The relationship starts from a place of understanding, not crisis.

ICAN Welfare-First Alignment
LUOSKO has submitted an application for charity membership of the International Companion Animal Network (ICAN). Current status: application submitted — awaiting review.
ICAN's published Welfare First principles recognise animal sentience, place physical and emotional wellbeing at the centre of practice, require force-free methods and prohibit intimidation and aversive training equipment. LUOSKO has reviewed its own published welfare and training policies against these principles. They align with our existing approach: Care Over Speed, behaviour as communication, veterinary consideration of pain and illness, reward-led learning, cooperative care, responsible management and honest evidence-led review.
This review is LUOSKO's own. It does not mean that ICAN has approved, accredited, certified or endorsed LUOSKO. LUOSKO does not currently represent itself as an ICAN member. No ICAN logo, badge, membership number or directory entry is shown here, because none has been granted.
